Introduction
At 2 PM on Sunday, November 16, with a slight chill in the air, Schmatz Tamachi had an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation, different from the usual lunch and dinner crowd.

The event held that day was the "Weekend Schmatz German Beer Experience Event," where participants could "drink, learn, and discuss" seven types of beer.
The venue welcomed a total of 33 guests, including regular Schmatz customers, beer lovers, and even those who "just came because they were a little curious about Schmatz."
A luxurious Sunday afternoon enjoying "German Beer"
As everyone arrived, before the "Kanpai" (cheers), a special beer experience led by Diploma Beer Sommelier Daisuke began.

First, as a beer for the toast, participants poured Weizen from a can into a glass themselves.
By having them pour the canned beer themselves, it's a mechanism to let them experience the many unique aspects of German beer and Schmatz.
・The special design of the Weizen glass
・The wonderful banana-like fruity aroma of Weizen
・The delicious way to pour unfiltered beer to fully enjoy the Weizen yeast
・The secret to creating a beautiful, full, and creamy head of foam
After everyone meticulously created their creamy Weizen foam, the Tamachi store manager gave a "Prost!" (cheers).
By then, everyone's expressions had relaxed, and the scene was filled with smiles and toasts.
Normally, it's rare for first-time customers to share a table, but on this day, many participated alone, so seating was naturally shared, and the distance between people visibly shortened with each clinking of glasses.
Many survey respondents said, "It was so much fun to get excited with the people at the same table!" and the charm of this event is how conversation naturally arises.
As the beer flowed, topics of conversation were endless, even among strangers.
Drink, learn, and discuss through 7 types of German beer
What everyone was most looking forward to on this day was, without a doubt, the seven types of beer.
・Weizen
・Helles
・Lager
・IPA
・Hazy IPA
・Porter
・Weizen Dunkel

To allow everyone to enjoy the differences in taste and aroma, each was served in small quantities in S-sized glasses.

First, Daisuke, a Doemens Beer Sommelier, introduced the history and characteristics of German beer, and Schmatz's brewing process in a seminar format. After that, participants started tasting the seven types in their preferred order, and many were surprised, saying, "The taste of beer varies so much!" It was a fun experience unique to comparative tasting.
Hazy IPA, with its rich aroma and juiciness, was particularly popular.
Some commented, "Hazy IPA was so delicious... I had several refills!" and after the event, we received requests to "want to buy some to take home."
Food pairings expand the world of beer
At the buffet, the tables were adorned with typical Schmatz food items.
・Sausage Platter
・Flammkuchen (German-style pizza)
・Pretzels
・Obatzda
・French Fries
When we introduced beer and food pairings,
"Oh, this goes perfectly with Weizen!"
"Helles and Flammkuchen are the best!"
were comments that naturally arose, fostering conversation.
We received feedback such as, "Not only did I enjoy the taste, but I also enjoyed learning," which showed that the beer and food combinations really boosted the atmosphere at the tables.
The peak of excitement: "Pouring Experience" and "Quiz Competition"
Midway through the event, the beer pouring experience created a particularly lively atmosphere.
How to tilt the glass, how to create foam, how to pull the lever—
The interesting thing about beer is that even slight differences change the taste and aroma.
The cheers of "Wow, the foam is beautiful!" at the moment of pouring, and comments like "This might be the best beer of the day" after drinking their self-poured beer, truly captured the essence of the experience.
And with the subsequent quiz competition, the sense of unity throughout the venue reached its peak.

The quiz theme was German beer culture and trivia, and each table was eager to answer correctly, thinking, "We have to get this one!"
Many participants commented, "The quiz was very educational and fun." It seemed that the ability to "learn a little more about beer" while having fun was a welcome aspect for them.
The passion of the event was evident in the participants' voices
In the post-event survey, a significant number of participants expressed, "I want to participate again!"
Here are some of their comments:
"Definitely recommend it to beer lovers"
"It was helpful that it was easy for solo participants"
"Fun, delicious, and gained knowledge – it was the best!"
"It was so good, I want to tell everyone around me"
What made us particularly happy was the comment, "It was fun drinking with people I didn't know."
The sight of strangers becoming "companions" through German beer always warms our hearts.
